Happy Friday and Happy 2020! Wow...2020. That is so crazy to say! What did everyone do to celebrate the beginning of the new year?

We wanted to go somewhere to celebrate 2020, so I went to google and typed "Best Places to Celebrate New Years in the USA"...listed at #1, New Orleans, Louisiana! And that was it...we packed our bags and went! It was a road-trip, with our friends, to the cajun party city! Once we arrived, we changed into our "Roaring 2020's" outfits and headed out for the night. The French Quarter is full of places to eat and we had plans to eat some spicy cajun food for our last meal of 2019. After visiting a small walk-in restaurant, we made our way to the famous Bourbon St. for the midnight drinks! I think everyone else had the same idea as us because the street was filled with people of all flavors. We saw so many women dressed as flappers and others dressed up as...well...it's New Orleans, so I'm sure you can imagine what else haha! We threw beads off the balconies, waved our feather boa's around, danced down the street and cheered our drinks with a kiss at midnight!

After Daniel and I woke up that morning, we went and had brunch at Royal & St. Ann. It was this small, cute food/bar space on the corner, right down from the square. It was the perfect area to sit and have a warm meal without tons of people around. The service was great and the shrimp were deliciously spicy! All through my childhood, I was told, "you have to eat your black-eyed peas, ham, cabbage and cornbread to have good luck for the year". Even when I ate this traditional meal, I did not feel so lucky haha. Daniel and I had already decided that our first 2020 dinner would be oysters and crab legs because...when in NOLA! He made reservations at New Orleans Creole Cookery where we had some of the best baked oysters! Then for our dessert, we had coffee and beignets at Cafe Du Monde. This was Daniel's first time having NOLA's sugar donuts and he loved them!

It just seems like the time goes by faster as I get older. I'm enjoying my 20's and never want them to stop! I will be 25 this year, meaning I'm halfway done. For year 2020, I really want to be more observant of my age and take the time to stop and enjoy every moment. Once your 20's are over, you don't get them back! So I encourage those of you in your early, mid or late 20's, enjoy them!! Take time to discover yourself, travel to places you have never been before, eat unique food you have never tried, go out with your best girls or best guys, make new friends to share these amazing years of your life with, dance around, sing out your favorite song and DO NOT let others stand in your way!

New Orleans was the perfect place to celebrate a new year and I recommend it for those who have never been! If your looking for a fun party time, amazing food, sweet treats and a experience like no other...NOLA is the spot to visit!

I hope everyone had a safe & exciting new years! As always, thank you for reading!

Happy 2020, Love yourself xoxo
