Under the Arch

Good morning and happy Friday! I hope you are well, healthy and enjoying 2023 so far. I haven’t taken a ton of trips this year, but I did take one at the end of January that I have been meaning to share. It may not sound too interesting, especially for those who live around Arkansas, but I spent a week in St. Louis, MO. The weather was quite wintery, but made for some nice pictures. My dog Aero loved all the snow! We stayed at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis At The Arch which provided some great views. For dinner on the first night, we walked to 360 Downtown STL. The food was fantastic and the views were as well! I had the white album open flame pizza with the house made Kit-Kat for dessert. I had never seen a Kit-Kat on a restaurant menu before, so I was super curious on what it would be like. It honestly tasted like really rich chocolate. I think they gave me six small pieces and I could only eat one. I ended up taking them back to the room and they made for a delicious snack the following nights.
Aero and I would wake up in the mornings to make our way to the Gateway Arch National Park. I hope you enjoy all her snow arch pictures below. Then, of course, we made a coffee run to the convenient Starbucks in the hotel. I spent some time shopping and then walked to the casino later that night. Didn’t get too lucky though. On the way back from the casino, we found this small bar called The Lou. They have a menu of 124 different shot combinations. It was fun picking out certain ones with funny names and trying them.
On our last full day, we had a delicious lunch at the Broadway Oyster Bar. Some of the best Cajun food I’ve had since New Orleans. Anheuser-Busch St. Louis Brewery was the next stop for some drinks and we also did the Clydesdale tour. They had a lot of horses in the stables that week. I got to meet Sparky up and close! He was huge, but super gentle! They really are amazing creatures. I would like to go back for their longer tour on how they make and bottle the beer. I think it would be super interesting!
If you have never been to St. Louis, it definitely would be a fun long weekend trip. Especially if you are from the Missouri/Arkansas area or like to watch the St. Louis Cardinals. Going to a Cardinals game sounds fun to do this summer! If you have been to St. Louis, what are some fun things you did? I would love to hear your suggestions for when I go back to visit!
As always, keep loving yourself xoxo
