Hello to all, and Happy Friday!

I'm going to have to do a throwback post here for when Daniel (the boyfriend) and I took our first trip up to New York City last summer. We drove all the way to NYC from Little Rock, 19 hour trip. 19 hours!...Because we had to catch our flight to Italy in 3 days. I thought we would never get there..haha. We finally arrived at Weehawken, NJ in our adorable Airbnb. One of the main reasons we chose this location is the view right down the street. The sun was still up, so we quickly unpacked and began our journey by walking down to check out the view. I had only seen NYC in movies and pictures, but to actually physically see how lovely the city was from across the Hudson River...completely breathtaking. I love cities! The buildings, the lights, constantly something to see/do, the energy and pace, I just love it.

In NYC, the easiest way to travel is by bus or subway. We were lucky to have a bus stop right across the street from the house that traveled straight to Manhattan. We changed clothes and jumped on the bus to go check out the city. The bus was crowded with people, the Manhattan bus stop was crowded, the streets of Manhattan were crowded, and Times Square was more than crowded. Be reminded, this is about 6pm and everyone is taking their walks home from work. I became quickly overwhelmed being from such a smaller area where the lights weren't as bright and not as many busy people trying to get somewhere. I can still remember all the car horns constantly beeping and the stand still traffic. SO MANY PEOPLE! Daniel and I found a rooftop restaurant called Connolly's Pub and Restaurant and it was delicious! After dinner we finished our stroll around the city and headed back to the house for some night pics of the city from our street. NYC was even prettier at night!

The next day, we headed out early to visit the 9/11 Memorial Museum. They did such a great job with building up the area and making it so memorable. We then walked around and found Wall Street, Statute of Liberty, Empire State Building, Grand Central Terminal, The Public Library, 5th Avenue, and (of course) Madison Street! Ya know, all the known places everyone just has to see for their first trip to New York. Then for dinner, we rode the subway over to the Brooklyn Bridge and had a nice outdoor meal on the patio. For July, the temperatures weren't so bad in the evenings.

The next day/final day, before catching our flight to Italy, we went to visit Central Park and had brunch at The Loeb Boathouse. It was a great sunny morning for a quiet meal by the lake! We ventured off into Central Park and came upon the American Museum of Natural History. Daniel really enjoyed all the dinosaur fossils, culture and history.

So what do you guys think of the Big Apple? I want to visit again because I feel like 3 days just wasn't near enough. When I do go back, what are some of your favorite spots? Would you ever recommend living in NYC? Why or why not? I would love to hear your feedback and comments on your experiences! Well, I'm signing off for now, enjoy your Friday!

Love yourself xoxo
