Power in Women

Hi everyone! I hope you all enjoyed this beautiful weekend and are ready to conquer March 2020! This month is very special to me and a lot of other women as well. Happy Women's History Month and for today....Happy International Women's Day to all the lovely ladies out there!

Women are absolutely amazing. No doubt whatsoever! We are capable of doing so many things, especially in today's society. We date back all the way to 1987, when Congress passed the public law 100-9 which designated the month of March as Women's History Month. I believe the strength, courage and determination of all women grows every year. We are learning every day what it's like to feel confident in ourselves and to help/stand up for one another. Women empowering women is SO IMPORTANT!! We must continue to make progress through this life together and show the world all we can do! We have more women in government leadership, more younger ladies taking on the STEM fields and more joining our armed forces. I love it and I am so excited to see it continue!!

As you may already know, I am a helicopter pilot for the United States Army. I recently graduated flight school October 2019. The military is seen as a male-dominated occupation that provides mostly male-dominated jobs. I was super shocked to see so many women going through flight school when I arrived. My job is so remarkable! Yes, it takes time, skill, and bravery...but I wouldn't have it any other way. Being in the sky every day is mind-blowing. I get to surf the clouds, communicate with airports and use night vision for night flights. How awesome does that sound? I know many people fear flying or don't have the vision for it. I am beyond blessed that I am able to do a job like this and serve my country while doing so.

If you are a woman reading this, think about all the incredible things you do in this life. It can be something small as packing your child's lunch with a napkin writing "I love you, have the best day" or it could be something big like your body carrying a child for 9 months or graduating from grad-school. Whatever it may be, YOU ARE AMAZING. People say all the time that a woman can accomplish about 10 things before a man can finish 1 haha...and sure enough, that statement is so true!

Take the time to give all the love to your surrounding sisters this month. Meet up with your best girlfriends for a brunch date or have a mom's night out at the bar, cheers! Celebrate! Each of us deserve it!
