Hello to all!

I know, I know...it has been a hot minute since I have taken the time to make a post. The best reason I can come up with is that nothing exciting has really been going on. Since the coronavirus has been around for over a year, traveling hasn't been happening much. I have taken a few trips out of the state, but that is really all I've done so far this year. I also have been super busy with my two new jobs! Yes, that now makes a total of three...am I crazy yet? Haha. Honestly, I have been enjoying myself! I am now working at a boutique part-time and taking on the role as a event planner for a local venue. Both are fun, but flying will always be the best career choice I made for myself. So, to say all that, I have been using up every day during the week doing one of my three jobs. This past weekend, I finally made some time to take a trip with my girlfriends to Oklahoma City. My birthday was on a Friday this year and I didn't want to spend it at work. Friday birthdays are meant to be celebrated all day long...and that's exactly what I did!

The day before, we piled up in my car and made the drive to OKC. When we finally arrived, we met up with one of our friends that lives there for a late night dinner and drinks. It was great catching up after a couple of months not seeing each other. Friday morning, my birthday, my friend Bella and I go to brunch at Bourbon Street Cafe. I had the Bananas Foster French Toast and she had the Napoleon Benedict. Both were so delicious! We also ordered some mimosas, of course! They brought out a pitcher of champagne with orange, pineapple and cranberry juices. Loved it! The restaurant was right next to the canal, so we sat, drank coffee and mimosas while watching the ducks in the water. Super relaxing and a great start to my day! Once we finished up there, we went over to the Classen Curve shopping center. For my birthday, Bella got me a shopping spree! I was super excited! We took turns trying on clothes, picking out hair accessories and new jewelry. It was a great time and I got some super cute things to add to my wardrobe.

Dinner reservations were made for 6pm and so we went back to the hotel to get dressed up for the evening. An hour later, we were ready and went next door to my friends apartment to meet up with our two other friends. All four of us celebrated my birthday in the kitchen with a beautiful, delicious red velvet cake. It also had sparklers for candles (enjoy the pictures haha)! We then started our walk down the street to Bar Cicchetti for some bday dinner! All of the servers that night were super sweet and loved our tiny party hats we were wearing. We started the night with a couple of drinks. I had the Jerry Firewater which had some spice to it, so good. I let the girls try a sip of it and they thought it was the best one that night. We also had a couple of pescatarian friendly appetizers, which I loved. For dinner, I had the crab lasagna and o.m.g. that thing was sooo freaking delicious. It was the real crab too, not that fake stuff! The restaurant also gave me a cast-iron cookie sundae for my birthday. Everything was so yummy! A for sure place you want to visit when in OKC!

Once we finished up dinner, we decided to go back down to the canal and get some drinks. We ended up at this tiki bar with live music. I got a paloma because, amazingly yum! The bartenders also gave us some complementary shots, ohh how sweet of them haha! It was about 10pm and we decided we needed some excitement. We started walking back towards the hotel, when we saw a burlesque show called Dollhouse. We went inside to give it a try and we immediately were super excited we did. They had a show every hour, but in the meantime we danced and enjoyed the club life that we hadn't experienced in over a year.

Saturday morning, we dragged out of bed in need of some coffee lol. Once we made it out of the hotel, we all met up for brunch at The Jones Assembly. This place was super adorable. I did not realize how modern OKC was. After some coffee, mimosas and avocado toast, we decided to take a trip to the park and check out the local market that was setup for the weekend. We walked around and found some cute trinkets to help support the city locals. Somehow after that, Bella and I ended up on a carousel! I told her I hadn't rode one in so long, so she insisted we jump on haha!

We made the drive back home Saturday afternoon, talking about how much fun we had all weekend. I love my birthday! It's such an important day in my eyes and having such awesome friends to celebrate it with, made it 10x better.

Do you have any big plans for your birthday this year since covid restrictions are changing? If you already had your birthday this year, what did you do to celebrate? I would love to hear your feedback!

I promise I won't go this long without writing again! I have some exciting upcoming trips planned, stay tuned!

Love yourself xoxo
