Hi everyone! I hope you all have been enjoying your summer. I know that here in Arkansas it has been crazy warm outside, but I had the opportunity to take a trip up north to Massachusetts for some cooler July temperatures.

It was my first time ever being this far north in the US and I thought the state of Massachusetts was beautiful! I got to spend two weeks on the East side of the state near Cape Cod. I did not realize how touristy the area was. It reminded me a lot of Florida beach towns, but smaller. The first night, I went to a local restaurant called The Lobster Trap and had the swordfish sandwich. Ugh…just typing the name makes my mouth water. It was so delicious. The seafood in this area is fresh and cooked so well. The next night I went to Fishermen’s View and sat on the patio by the water. They are known for their sushi, so if you’re in the area wanting sushi, this is a great option. Another evening during the first week, I went to visit the Falmouth area which was close to the beach. I even took the time to take a picture with a lighthouse eating some of the famous Cape Cod chips sold in most local grocery stores. (I was super proud of this pic lol).

Photo creds to my friend Emily, thanks girl!

That weekend, Emily and I drove up to Boston. I have always wanted to go to Boston! Emily knew the area very well, so she was able to show me around the best parts of the city. Quincy Market was the first stop where I had my very first lobster roll. I had heard people talking about lobster rolls and automatically assumed they were talking about lobster sushi rolls. Emily was like “No, Madison! It’s actually a bread roll with butter and pieces of real lobster”. I immediately bought one and oh my, it was sooo good! We did some light shopping and I bought my first Boston Red Sox merch (Ball cap), so I guess that means I have to watch baseball now lol! We went to the Boston Aquarium and had dinner at Tiki Rock. She told me they had drinks that caught on fire and I was definitely sold on going there! We then went to Ned Devine’s for some drinks and dancing. We had a blast! Fun fact though, Boston does sleep! It’s not anything like NYC or Vegas…or even Little Rock for that matter. Most places were shut down for the night around 1:30 am, which is super early compared to LR. It surprised me! On the way back to Cape Cod we stopped at a little mom & pop breakfast diner and had some of the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had. Then we spent the Sunday afternoon back in east Falmouth at the Cape Cod Winery. We each got wine flights and was able to take our wine glass home as a souvenir. I loved the vibes here!

The second week had wonderful temperatures and for the last night, we did some last minute shopping and then went to the beach to watch the sunset. Apparently the water was warm, but I didn’t think so haha. We had a late dinner at Silver Beach Pizza & Seafood and stopped by the fair in town to have a local beer in the beer garden.

To sum it all up, I enjoyed my time in Massachusetts and would for sure visit again. Preferably during summer months because I am told that it gets way too cold up there during the winter.

Have you ever been to Mass? What parts of the state did you visit? Do you recommend any places to visit next time? I would love to hear your recommendations!

More trips to come, soon. I hope you all enjoy your weekend!

Love yourself xoxo
